Det här är en engelsk version av min dikt 'Min obeväpnade beväpnade vardag' Enjoy!

Welcome to America

Unarmed, armed.

In a new situation with a new crowd.

Left and hurt.

Starting all over again.

Getting treated as a child and a stranger.

Sitting in the backseat of the car;

Looking out the window.

An American suburb with small people.

A Brazilian guy with fortune bracelets.

I wished for something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to.

When life is at its darkest point;

When nothing looks possible.

The time stops and I think about you; hoping.

Soon all this will be over.

I can’t wait for the warmth and closeness;

To be in my own sphere.

Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret, and Junk food doesn’t intrigue me any longer.

Hypocrites, double standard, and lies.

Death penalty, abortion, and freedom of speech.

Age-limits, drama, and right to bare arms.

Rules, courtesy, and stress is my daily life.

Welcome to America.
