it's late again

and here I am

alone in my bed

with my heart pounding in my chest

lost in thoughts

I close my eyes

and fall asleep

with my pillow tight in my arms

I dream beautiful dreams

of a wonderful place

where I feel true happiness

but in the morning when I wake

that happy place is so far away

so as I lie still in bed

I wonder

if dreams can come true

if they can

I hope especially this one do

because the beauty in my dreams

is you

and that wonderful place

is your sweet and loving embrace

and the source of my true happiness

is your heart

your love

so here I lie

so far away from you

aching for your touch

to feel your skin on mine

and I long for the day

when your face is the first face I see

when I wake in the morning

I hope that day comes soon

and when it does

I don't ever want it to end
