We are all in the same night
We are all in the same boat
We are all pressing the same obolus
with the tongue against our palatum
- just like the coined phrase:
That phrase with the word of Death
So cold to form in my mouth
That phrase with the word of Peace
So warm 'tis to feel it's imagery,
it's silvery king's imagery

We are all of the same earth
We all carry the same seal
We stutter out the same word:
Who reads my letter?
The carefully written letter
which was varnished in red
That letter is all that remains
of all that was me which resonates
- if noone it receives
I will lie here unredeemed

O eternal Correspondent!
So put it on the flames
if you be tired of our print!
A flame that devours
to lightest ashes and smoke,
that is what we acquire
- within the nights of cold
among the fighting shadows:
The blessing of thy flame,
not of thine hands

Vi är alla i samma natt
Vi är alla i samma båt
Vi trycker alla samma obol
med tungan mot gommen
- liksom ett myntat ord:
Det ordet är Död
Så kallt var att ta det i mun
Det ordet är Frid
Så varmt att känna dess bild,
dess silverne konungs bild

Vi är alla av samma jord
Vi bär alla samma sigill
Vi stammar på samma ord:
Vem läser mitt brev?
Brevet jag omsorgsfullt skrev
och lackade rött
Det brevet är allt som är kvar
av det som jag var
- tar ingen emot det
ligger jag outlöst

O evige Korrespondent!
Så lägg det på elden
om du är trött på vårt pränt!
En eld som förtär
till lättaste aska och rök,
det är det vi begär
- i kyla och natt
bland kämpande skuggor:
Din elds välsignelse,
ej dina händers
