My mama always told me
I could be a star
She said to me be proud
Of who you really are
She raised me to be confident
Secure and always strong
But suddenly I lost her
And everything was wrong
The sickness came and took her
Away, it went so fast
I was just a teen back then

My mama was my guiding star
But she went out to soon
And I felt so alone down here
Staring at the moon
But I know she left a spark in me
