another night by the bar
had a couple of drinks
to ease my pain
and I drank more
than I oughtta should
I played some dice
won some money
but I still felt poor
without your smiling face
I bought me some lovin'
just for the night
she was just some random blonde girl
that reminded me of you
I picked her up
'cause I didn't want to face the night alone
but even though I had her between the silky sheets
I still felt alone
I left her apartment before the break of dawn
I wandered the streets like a ghost
my destination was unknown
I guess I looked for a place to call home
and I knew
that if my heart was a map
It would lead me back to you
but you've already closed your door
so I don't really have no use for a heart anymore
I waited for the night to come
and I found myself at the bar one more time
I was looking for answers at the bottom of my glass
but at the break of dawn
I found myself in a strange womans bed again
and I felt just as empty
as a bottle of whiskey
