Midnight

It\'s midnight and I sit in your room, watching you.
You\'re tired after this hard week.

I see you lying in the bed, your eyes kindly shut.
You\'re humming along to that song on the tv.

That sleep-friendly voice, is just not good for me.
We both know where we want it to end.

But we can\'t do that anymore.
Not together, you and me.
We\'re not a couple anymore.
Not together, you and me.

You asked me to come by after the party,
but really, for what reason?

It\'s midnight and I\'ve got to sleep my eight hours
Will I be able to dream tonight, where will I sleep?

I\'m sitting in you chair, and here I\'ll stay tonight,
I\'m not allowed to come too near you.

Because we can\'t do that anymore.
Not together, you and me.
We\'re not a couple anymore.
Not together, you and me.

What are we actually doing right now?
Where does all this lead us?
When will we realize our situation?
Why are we torturating our selfs?

We shouldn\'t do this anymore.
We\'re not together, you and me.
We\'re not a couple anymore.
Not together, you and me.
