All the cherry tree wants
is to bring forth more cherry trees


It does this so sloppily that our lips redden
from the juice of cherries
crushed between lips and teeth
and the soft "phutt" of a spat stone
hides the moment of impact
of seed to soil.


Then smiles the cherry tree,
\'your hungry mouth
is the shortest route
to the survival of my kind.\'

Allt körsbärsträdet vill
är flera körsbärsträd på jorden

så slarvigt gör hon denna plikt
att våra läppar rodnar
av körsbär krossade mellan tand och läpp,
den knappt hörbara dunsen
av sten i jord döljer
markens hungriga befruktning.


Och trädet ler;

är genvägen
