You
hide your humour
Behind the green gas mask
As a pop up surprise
Lurked in the shadow
At the windowpane
So all guest, that visit
Your family’s summer resident
Will have themselves a laugh
When they rest their behind at the loo
- That’s you
You
like to travel the world
Wine and dine
(Spicy and hot)
Me, I've always been afraid of flying
You've always aimed to climb higher
Reach taller, dive deeper
With your Arms in the Sea
Freckled chocolate in your Irish coffee
And your beer black in Dublin
While at home it's your American coffer
With rough edges
That gives you enough space
To stuff your secret escape, in
And gives you that big old warm welcome-hug feeling
When you step in
That glimps in the mirror
In the hallway
That smile
- That's you
You
were born
With both feet on the ground
You carry no shoes like Hush Puppies
But one day you want that Jack Russell
To toss that stick to
And somebody walking next to You
You always seem to know your way around
Not scared of the dark forest
You hunt them thoughts down
Me I'm like the rabbit that frown
And you could probably
Tell a million bedtime stories
From your crazy wild days
As a child, when you used to fall off your bike
Down from trees
Or like how you got that scar on your left finger
At the fireplace
Or when you did that operation on your brother
Only sixteen
At sea
Honey
- That's you
Everybody is telling me
there is plenty of fish in the sea
But you’re not to small, not to big
To toss back in
And I have stopped seeking
The world
Up side down
I know that
This one
- is a keeper
